What’s your vision for the future of Des Moines?

Des Moines City Hall has eyes trained on year 2040 — and ears open to citizens.

What’s your vision? What will Des Moines look like 25 years from now? Where will residents live? How will our neighborhoods keep their character while new homes and businesses are built? How should the City encourage new development and where?

Such are the questions the city wants residents’ answers to as staff work to update the city’s comprehensive plan, named PlanDSM: Creating Our Tomorrow. The name purposely echoes the Greater Des Moines region’s long-range sustainability plan, The Tomorrow Plan.

So start thinking and get ready to speak up. A new website with comment field recently went live at plandsm.org, and four public meetings have also been scheduled.
